HOW IT STARTED
I would love to say my passion for apparel production began when I was a little girl, but that would not be true. I have always loved clothes and drawing, so I wanted to be a designer. I thought that was the most glamorous job ever, so I went to a university with an an amazing foreign exchange program. My first Internship was in a designer’s showroom in Paris. Hated it. I got coffee, walked the dog and worked in a smoke filled room all.day.long…Plus, I realized that I was just not talented enough to be a big time designer. So I took a different path…
My next Internship was with Mast Industries in Milan. I worked alongside a fabric sourcing manager going to fabric shows and mills. It was here I learned about textiles and yarns and factories. Most factories in Italy were smoky and gritty, but I was hooked.
